Bougainvillea x ‘Red Barbara Karst’

Bougainvillea is a native blooming vine of South America. It is commonly seen around Texas. The thorny, woody vines grow up to 30 feet long. They grow best in warm climates. The vine is identified as a semi-evergreen because it drops its leaves in colder climates. It is popular in hanging baskets or containers and known for its captivating blossoms.

The flowers of the Bougainvillea are white and small. They are surrounded by a papery bract that comes in many colors including white, pink, peach, and red.

The Bougainvillea thrives with regular fertilization, limited watering, and with crowded roots. They are relatively pest-free and are ideal for planting in containers.
